Position Overview
The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs within the organization. This role aims to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe and sustainable work environment, particularly within the manufacturing and plastics sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of other facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to EHS standards.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on EHS practices and procedures.
- Analyze accident reports and investigate incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with management to set EHS goals and objectives and monitor progress towards achieving them.
- Maintain records and documentation related to EHS activities and reporting.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely submission of required reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in the manufacturing or plastics industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to develop training programs and conduct effective safety training sessions.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools related to EHS performance.
