We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Permanent EHS Manager to join our fast-paced Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting a positive health and safety culture within the organization. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. The EHS Manager will be in charge of all areas of EHS, including compliance with Cal OSHA, OSHA, Workers Compensation, IIPP, HIPP, RMP, PSM, and other relevant regulations.

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Permanent EHS Manager to join our fast-paced Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting a positive health and safety culture within the organization. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. The EHS Manager will be in charge of all areas of EHS, including compliance with Cal OSHA, OSHA, Workers Compensation, IIPP, HIPP, RMP, PSM, and other relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage EHS programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee the administration of Workers Compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs to ensure employee understanding and adherence to safety regulations and practices.
- Manage the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and Hazardous Materials Business Plan (HMBP).
- Develop and implement the Risk Management Plan (RMP) and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and external consultants as needed.
- Promote a culture of safety and health by implementing innovative programs and campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an EHS role within the Engineering industry.
- In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards such as Cal OSHA, OSHA, Workers Compensation, IIPP, HIPP, RMP, and PSM.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to develop and implement EHS programs and training.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
