Seeking a talented EHS & Maintenance Manager to oversee the environmental, health, and safety programs and manage facilities maintenance for a world-class manufacturing operation with a record of safety and cultural excellence.
This person will champion all facets of the company’s EHS program in accordance with all Federal and State regulations while overseeing the facility maintenance team and budget (HVAC, water, pneumatic, electric, structural and grounds, general equipment, etc.).
Responsibilities include:
- Own all EHS policies & procedures, auditing, training, recordkeeping, PPE program, and DOT management.
- Prepare and submit required EHS documentation and reports to regulatory agencies.
- Monitor and track compliance with environmental and safety regulations, recommend policy changes as necessary.
- Maintain records of EHS training, inspections, and incidents including OSHA 300 reporting, and look for trends to mitigate risk.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of facilities, including (but not limited to) HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems. Inspect, schedule, and facilitate the maintenance of equipment and facilities to assure proper operation and appropriate availability. Work with other supervisors and personnel to identify maintenance needs.
- Manage facility environmental programs including hazardous waste monitoring, governmental reporting, air/water permitting, etc. to ensure conformance with company policies and compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships for facility services, including cleaning, landscaping, and maintenance.
- Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Plan and coordinate facility improvement projects and renovations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Facilities Management, or a related field. Equivalent education and experience will also be considered.
- Safety champion with strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices and demonstrated experience leading industrial manufacturing EHS programs and managing facilities maintenance operations, budget, and personnel.
- OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health card with OSHA 30-hour General Industry and Safety Health card preferred. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) a plus.
- Proven knowledge of Federal and State Indiana occupational safety, health and environmental regulations, with strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental wastewater systems, and permitting procedures and paperwork required by state, federal and governmental agencies.
- Hands-on experience performing audits and ability to effectively influence and work with other internal and external customers to gain consensus for implementing regulatory requirements. Ability to work with regulatory agencies, consultants, and other contractor personnel.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills with experience in project management and training.
- Able to assess needs, prepare detailed reports, plan and layout work projects, conceptualize and seek solutions and information, and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
- Valid driver's license with safe driving record.
