Accentuate Staffing has an immediate opportunity for an EHS Coordinator to join an established company in Durham, NC. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity that will be onsite Monday – Friday from 8 am until 5 pm. The ideal candidate will manage the full lifecycle of workers’ compensation claims, including filing, claim reviews, coordinating return-to-work processes, and handling light-duty assignments. In addition, the EHS Coordinator will assist with various administrative tasks within the EHS department, including organizing employee events and supporting other administrative functions as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Workers’ Compensation Management:
- Manage the workers’ compensation claims process from initial filing through resolution.
- Ensure timely reporting and follow-up on claims, keeping records up to date.
- Coordinate with insurance providers, healthcare professionals, and internal departments to facilitate the efficient processing of claims.
- Oversee the return-to-work process, including arranging light-duty assignments for injured employees.
- Review and analyze claims data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant workers’ compensation laws and company policies.
- Administrative Support for EHS Department:
- Assist in organizing and executing employee events, including safety recognition and wellness programs.
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the EHS team, including filing, data entry, and preparing reports.
- Maintain accurate records of EHS activities and safety documentation.
- Additional EHS Tasks:
- Assist with safety audits and inspections.
- Support the preparation of EHS reports and documentation for management review.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in health, safety, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in workers’ compensation management or a similar role in an EHS department.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of North Carolina workers’ compensation laws and processes is preferred.
