Our organization, an industry leader in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a dynamic and experienced EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Manager. This is a permanent and full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of our employees, compliance with environmental regulations, and the overall well-being of our work environment. The EHS Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of safety and environmental programs, ensuring our company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
2. Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
3. Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
4. Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
5. Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
6. Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
7. Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
8. Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
9. Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in safety management, environmental science, or relevant field.
2. Minimum of 3+ years' experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry, preferably within the food manufacturing sector.
3. In-depth knowledge of EHS guidelines and practices, including experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
4. Proven experience implementing safety, health, and environmental programs.
5. Strong understanding of environmental regulations and occupational health.
6. Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
7. Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety.
8. Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
9. Outstanding organizational skills.
10. Excellent communication and advisory skills.
11. Diligent with great attention to detail.
12. Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a hands-on attitude.
13. Professional certification in NEBOSH, OSHA, or relevant field is preferred.
14. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
