The Role:

As a Meyer Burger Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator, you will be part of a company helping drive the global transition to sustainable energy. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this shift-based position will play a crucial role in overseeing and supporting the implementation of our safety policies and procedures throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EHS practices and a passion for promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Your contribution to our vision (responsibilities):

• Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions and drills for employees to foster a safe working environment.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and determine preventative measures for the future.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
• Collaborate with the EHS Manager and other department heads to develop strategies to improve safety and environmental performance.
• Assist in managing the facility's waste disposal program and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
• Support the implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
• Monitor and report on key EHS performance indicators and assist in preparing reports for senior management.
• Stay informed about the latest industry trends, techniques, and regulations in environmental health and safety.
• Assist with new hire safety training.
• Partners with peers, supervisors, leads, and other resources across departments to address and solve critical safety issues in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or manager.

You bring:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Commitment to safety to promote a safe environment.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• First Aid and CPR/AED Certified.
• Knowledge and understanding of OSHA General Industry Standards (OSHA Construction Standards a plus).
• 1-3 years related manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and commitment to team culture.
• Language skills: English.

A Plus:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experienced ramping a greenfield manufacturing site.
• Bilingual/ Spanish or other foreign language skills.
