Overview:
JOB SUMMARY:
The EHS Coordinator will work with the EHS Manager and the site team to develop and improve the site Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and activities to maximize safety for all plant employees. The EHS Coordinator will be active and engaged with all personnel working in manufacturing to help ensure safety and environmental compliance through administration of the facility standards.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Strong floor presence and comfortable interacting and coaching employees and contractors to maintain a safe environment and continually improve safety in the plant.
- Use a proactive safety philosophy to prevent accidents and injuries, by building safety policies and procedures that reduce risks associated with completing job tasks. Strong ability to speak up with unpopular opinions.
- Adheres to safety, health and environmental standards of the facility.
- Assist with and lead Root Cause Investigations and reports on first aid, near misses, and serious injuries.
- Assist/perform equipment inspections and audit completed inspections.
- Be a resource on all applicable safety rules, laws, and regulations.
- Work with Safety Committee to conduct hazard audits and address concerns.
- Assist in annual emergency drills with site leadership, safety manager, and fire department.
- Administer Hazard Communication program. Ensure quarterly audits are completed and update “Right to Know” workstations with safety information.
- Develops, plans, and conducts EHS meetings and training programs to ensure understanding of EHS compliance.
- Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices, developing practices and programs to correct or reduce their occurrence.
- Adheres to food safety, quality and legal compliance including environmental compliance. In the event of a crisis (i.e. product recall, fire, etc.) delegate responsibilities as outlined in the Crisis Communications and Management Guide.
- Confident in First Aid or able to learn First Aid under OSHA Guidelines.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Considering candidates with an Associates/Bachelor’s degree in an EHS discipline from an accredited college or university or 3 to 5 years of relevant EHS work experience
