Title: Technical Project Manager. PMP Certification Required
Location: Hybrid role in Sacramento
Hourly Rate: $60-65.00
High Level Tasks and Roles/ Responsibilities
Project Integration Management
- Direct and manage workstream efforts.
- Oversee all project stakeholders and staff.
- Assist in creating and/or updating project charter and project plans.
- Update Project Status Report.
- Update Senior PMs with information for required documents.
- Preparing for upcoming activities within the workstream:
a. Obtaining authorization from stakeholders;
b. Analyzing and presenting business needs and feasibility to stakeholders.
Project Scope and Change Management
Validate and control scope through:
- Requirement traceability and scope variance reporting.
- Performing integrated change control.
- Conducting change configuration tasks.
- Delivering Monthly Reports as stated of proposed changes that impact the scope.
Overseeing Project Risk and Issue Management
- Identify and mitigate risks and assist in updating Risk Register.
- Manage risk response planning.
- Assist in the creation of tools for the management and resolution of issues.
- Conduct meetings as needed to ensure any impediments are resolved expeditiously.5.
Prepare Risk Mitigation Plan to include suggestions on how to mitigate risks.
- Update Project Status Report.
Project Communication and Stakeholder Management
- Facilitate weekly status meetings and document action items with the Project Team, stakeholders,
and technical staff.
- Direct stakeholder management and communication.
- Communicate with stakeholders using the latest PMBOK tools and techniques.
- Oversee and control Project Team communications.
- Utilize Microsoft Teams/SharePoint to store and present key information to Management
Team, stakeholders and Project Team.
Overseeing Project Schedule Management
- Maintain and update the project schedule, which includes the consolidation of project schedules from various sources.
- Assess and adjust resource load for project activities.
- Define the sequence of project activities.
- Establish schedule maintenance and reporting.
- Maintain the MS Project schedule.
- Development of adhoc hypothetical scenarios for project schedule changes.
Project Resource and Workload Control
- Manage day-to-day project work efforts.
a. Estimate and assign resource load for project tasks.
- Ensure Project Team hours are tracked and documented.
- Report on project status and other needs as required.
Required skills and qualifications
- A minimum of seven (7) years of broad, extensive and increasingly responsible experience applying PM principles, methods, techniques, and tools.
- At least four (4) years of that experience must have been as a Senior PM of one (1) or more large or complex IT projects.
- Possession of a *Bachelor's degree. Four years of experience, in addition to the years required above, may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- A valid *Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
