We are on the hunt for a dynamic, experienced, and dedicated Permanent EH&S Manager to join our team in the manufacturing industry. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety and well-being throughout our organization. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in EH&S, risk assessment, occupational health, safety management, and industrial hygiene. Experience in the food manufacturing sector is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the EH&S programs in line with the company's goals and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines.
- Ensure the organization complies with all current health and safety legislation, and any future legislation that becomes applicable.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on health and safety protocols.
- Lead investigations into any incidents or accidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on EH&S performance for the plant manager and senior management.
- Promote a positive safety culture within the organization through communication, training, and accountability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive EH&S initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EH&S role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant health and safety regulations.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is preferred.
- Excellent understanding of risk assessment and management principles.
- Experience in policy development and implementation.
- Proven ability to conduct training and awareness programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EH&S management systems.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry is a plus.
