Educator Spiritual Health - Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health

Provides leadership and educational oversight for ACPE accredited program for CPE education. Shares in caring for the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the patients, their families, and the staff of the hospital. Provides counseling and supportive care and guidance.

1. Designs curriculum, organizes resources, and conducts programs of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.
2. Recruits, screens, and makes admission decisions for prospective participants in CPE.
3. Supervises and evaluates clinical functioning, personal growth, and professional development of students in CPE.
4. Facilitates peer group processes for evaluation and learning of clinical pastoral care.
5. Organizes and conducts a process for periodic self-study and review of accreditation in accordance with the requirements of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.
6. Provides spiritual support, pastoral care, and pastoral counseling to patients, families and staff. Refers as appropriate for specific needs.
7. Provides leadership for occasional worship services and general spiritual care events.
8. Participates in the assessment of Spiritual Health programming needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of CPE programs.
9. Engages regularly with the ACPE, denominational judicatories and other professional organizations to maintain good standing
10. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

• Master of Divinity degree, or equivalent, with 3 years of pastoral experience required.
• Ordination or equivalent, and endorsement for CPE supervision by denominational endorsing body required.

• Certified as an Educator by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.
