Ada S. McKinley is a non-profit organization with a mission to empower, educate, and employ people to change lives and strengthen communities. Our legacy began 100+ years ago, and today we serve over 7,000 people each year across more than 70 program sites throughout the Chicago metropolitan area, Wisconsin and Indiana. Our Educational Services Talent Search is a post-secondary planning and awareness program that assists more than 1,700 inner-city students in low-income, predominantly minority neighborhoods to dream of, prepare for, and go to college. Since founded in 1966, the program has successfully placed over 75,000 at-risk, first-generation students in over 400 colleges and universities around the country. Our Educational Specialists deliver customized services, enrichment activities, and workshops that assist program participants in identifying post-secondary choices that fit their academic, social, career, and economic profiles. The overall goal is to empower students to select colleges that nurture their growth while equipping them with the skills necessary to ensure. We are looking to identify talented individuals who will join us in furthering our vision to serve and bring lasting positive change and transformative opportunities to youth residing in economically distressed communities in the Chicagoland area.
How Will You Help
• Provide academic advising, financial aid counseling, and career and college placement guidance for eligible 9th to 12th-grade students attending an assigned Chicago Public School in and around Chicago’s south and southwest side communities.
• Establishes effective partnerships with counselors, teachers, and other school personnel to identify, recruit, engage and retain prospective program participants.

Perform comprehensive academic skills and career assessments to determine participants’ needs and interests.
• Network and collaborate with colleges, universities, vocational and technical schools, and other shared stakeholders to identify educational and enrichment opportunities for program participants.
• Develop, implement, and track individual achievement plan progress.
• Revise and recommend a plan to reflect a continuum of current services or identify new resources as dictated by the data.
