About the Job
The Education Technical Writer will assist in creating internal and external facing documentation, training materials, and marketing materials. The role requires planning, researching, writing, and editing skills to produce well-written and well-organized content. The role also requires extensive collaboration, including participation, as a consulted member of the Education Team.
This position is remote with occasional travel to distributed Locumsmart offices and CHG corporate headquarters. The Education Technical Writer will report directly to the Education Manager.
Responsibilities
- Write, format, and edit technical documentation for internal and external users.
- Create engaging, easy-to-understand content such as user guides, knowledge base articles, how-tos, step-by-step collateral, and UI text
- Build new or update existing content to support frequent product changes in a timely manner
- Adhere to the review/approval processes for new and updated documentation
- Develop and maintain documentation templates and style guides
- Ensure documentation and training materials are useful, accurate, and comply with established procedures, standards, and style guides.
- Provide valuable feedback for support, training, and related customer-facing content
- Ability to educate others on the best practices for training materials and documentation
Qualifications
- Exceptional writing/editing and grammar skills with ability to create documents from scratch
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly motivated, self-starter with excellent time management skills who can work independently on multiple projects
- Greatly organized, detail-oriented, and able to complete tasks while meeting tight deadlines
- Exhibits problem-solving and creative thinking skills
- Innovative thinker who is proactive and readily embraces change
- Committed to positively contributing to a team culture and is consistently able to collaborate

- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Communications, English, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience in Technical Writing
We believe in fair compensation for all of our people, which is why our pay structure takes into account the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. For this position, we offer a pay range of $64,896 -- $197,100 annually, with pay varying depending on work location and job-related factors such as knowledge, position level and experience. During the hiring process, your recruiter can provide more information about the specific salary range for the job location.
CHG Healthcare offers starting salaries for sales positions in the form of total target compensation (TTC = base + commission + bonus), which includes base pay, commission, and bonuses. Sales positions receive short-term incentives through commission plans and bonuses. On the other hand, non-sales positions have starting salaries that consist of a base salary and short-term incentives through various bonus plans, which are paid out monthly, quarterly, or annually.
