Position Title: Education Service Advisor
Location: 88th Regional Support Command East, Fort Snelling, MN
Security Clearance Level: Secret or Interim Secret eligible
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include the following:
- Perform Army Educational Support Services at the US Army Reserve's 88th Regional Support Command (RSC) East on Fort Snelling, Minnesota
- Promote lifelong learning opportunities through degree programs using tuition assistance (TA), testing opportunities, credentialing assistance (CA), Reserve Component-Student Loan Repayment Program (RC-SLRP) and any GI Bill Program available to Soldiers and family members
- Accurately complete tasks and submit required deliverables to the Government no later than the Government-specified due date(s)
- Develop and submit logically organized and grammatically correct data, forms, reports, and other documents
- Provide general educational assistance (portals, financials, benefits, programs, and admissions) and guidance (goals, plans, enrollment/withdrawal, TA, CA) to Soldiers, Soldiers transitioning to civilian life, family members, Department of the Army civilians, and other eligible personnel)
- Provide client case and account management including reviewing, resolving or forwarding Help Desk cases
- Prepare and deliver client/unit, general education information, PowerPoint briefings
- Prepare and deliver general education information reports and documents
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from a college or university that is accredited by a national or regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in advising or education services. This time may include a completed education related/advisor internship.
- An Associate's Degree from a college or university that is accredited by a national or regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education may be substituted for Bachelor's Degree if coupled with at least four years of relevant work experience in advising or education
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training material.
- Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly clearly, and effectively communicate in person or via electronic devices
- Have proficient knowledge and experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Knowledge and experience using Army approved education services portals such as ArmyIgnitED 2.0, is highly desired
- Knowledge and experience providing quality customer service to any or all of the following: military personnel, military families, and/or Government employees.
