Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Professional Learning Program Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting year-round professional development initiatives for K-16 social studies professionals. You'll have the opportunity to coordinate a variety of educational events, including webinars, institutes, meetings, and podcasts, aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of educators in the field.
Responsibilities:
Professional Learning Programs:
Design, implement, and manage all aspects of educational programming, including workshops, institutes, meetings, webinars, and online learning experiences.
Coordinate with contracted consultants to ensure high-quality delivery of professional development sessions.
Negotiate agreements, prepare contracts, and handle logistics for events.
Develop and host engaging workshops, institutes, and online learning programs.
Maintain statistical reports to assess the success of events and programs.
Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager to curate the NCSS On-Demand Library.
Annual Conference:
Act as the main point of contact for conference presenters and attendees.
Provide logistical support for conference registration and volunteer coordination.
Assist in crafting marketing materials for the Annual Conference Program and Exhibit Guide.
Participate in event planning meetings and provide administrative support as needed.
Recognition Programs:
Manage the application and selection process for NCSS awards, grants, and scholarships.
Communicate with applicants and recipients throughout the recognition process.
Represent NCSS staff on the Awards Committee.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in program administration, event planning, or association-chapter relations management.
Experience in K-12 social studies education and instructional design is a plus.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and efficiently under deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and website management/editing.
Familiarity with online presentation programs is desired.
