SUMMARY
Coordinates and/or performs all activities related to the operation and maintenance of the company’s EDM equipment to maximize utilization and meet customer requirements of on-time delivery and quality, while adhering to the Quality Management System, all applicable regulations and company standards, and Lean Manufacturing Principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans capacity and schedules the EDM equipment to ensure maximum utilization (including unattended operation during off-hours) and commitment to deliverable end dates.
Pursues competitive pricing and procures required materials and tools, ensuring adequate availability at all times.
Creates and modifies programs using company-standard software applications, as well as navigates the equipment system software, menus and submenus.
Designs and manufactures fixtures and tooling as required.
Independently sets up and operates the equipment as required and troubleshoots any technical problems, in addition to remotely monitoring operational status and making corrections as needed.
Tests and inspects products during the manufacturing operation to determine if items meet specifications, complying with established standards and methods for inspection, testing, evaluation and calibration.
Coordinates and/or performs the daily and weekly maintenance according to manufacturer’s requirements.
Effectively trains associates to program, operate and maintain equipment.
Prepares and updates documentation as required by the scope of the job.
Recommends process improvements to management and upon approval, handles the implementation and updates related documentation.
Coordinates and/or performs the above-stated activities on other CNC or conventional equipment as required such as CNC Grinder, etc.
Understands and complies with company policies, safety guidelines, quality system procedures and housekeeping standards.

Education and/or Experience Manufacturing Technology Certification and 3-5 years related machining experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
