Position Summary: Provides assistance to the medical and nursing staff by giving direct patient care. Provides technical services as assigned. Performs clerical and receptionist duties. Position Qualifications: Minimum Education: High school or equivalent Preferred Experience: Sufficient experience as EMT Required Certification/Registration: CPR certification Required Training: Basic EKG course must be completed within one-year of hire Skills: Administrative: Proven verbal/written communication skills Excellent guest relations skills Ability to perform detailed assignments Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology Skills: Machine Calculator Fax machine Personal computer/word processing Photocopier Physical Demands: Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching Prolonged standing/walking Lifts heavy supplies/equipment Working Conditions: Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness) Subject to varying and unpredictable situations Handles emergency or crisis situations Subject to long irregular hours Pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases
