SUMMARY
The eCommerce Buyer/Merchandiser role at Show Me Your Mumu is responsible for driving the site merchandising and developing the Main Collection Division buying for the eCommerce business. The role is responsible for the strategic direction of inventory needs based on analysis of departmental financials, historical data, and current market trends. Must be within reasonable commuting distance of the Mumu HQ in Los Angeles, CA. This role’s schedule is hybrid and works in an open office at the HQ, 2-3 days per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Product & Assortment Planning
· Lead department with oversight from Director of Buying and Merchandising, including involvement in receipts management, sales planning/forecasting, and sku planning process
· Build Collection assortments; provide prepared ideas on editing process based off hindsights and current sales trends.
· Maintain the buy plans & line sheets to ensure accuracy, act as the point person for the rest of the team.
· Partner with Planning Advisor and Director of Buying and Merchandising on the determination of receipt plans, margin and IMU goals, and flow strategies to drive assortment execution
Work closely with Wholesale Partners to align on company strategy, as well as achieve production mins to maximize costs benefits
Directs the buying function for the Main Collection Division and is responsible for the assortment, market coverage, pricing, and margin performance
Create a Main Collection Pricing Strategy based on current market trend and historical Mumu bestseller data/price range.
Present analysis by style/sku, delivery, & category to team and to understand prior performance & develop future goals.
Review and recommend changes to current assortment mix, shifts of receipts if need be.
Ensure that receipt goals are met each month and are reflected as new assortments are delivered online.
Work closely with Director of Buying and Merchandising to Hindsight monthly learnings to help guide future business
Work with Director of Buying and Merchandising and Planning Advisor on monthly reconciliation of receipts to hit turn plans; make recommendations for styles to pull forward, cancel, push out and quantities for chase
Site Merchandising
Develops and executes site taxonomy strategy.
Align all seasonal assortment strategies with weekly site changeouts, make sure visual merchandising aligns with inventory investments
Oversees the site merchandising in all shops to align Mumu vision and top investments for maximum exposure.
Competitive Analysis - Understand competitor sites and monitor trends for pricing strategies, markdown/promotional cadences and site merchandising techniques.
Forecasting & Analysis
Develop and maintain merchandise plans and buys for Main Collection
With guidance, help develop seasonal SKU plans that support product and financial strategies.
Analyze historical data and current trends to recap business. Work to identify risks and opportunities by department and class. Create strategies to understand significant variances to plan and develop action plans that mitigate additional risk.
Aware of chase/commit calendar. Partner with Director of Buying and Merchandising to provide inventory projections and/or buys for due dates.
Present forecasts and action plans in open-to-buy meetings. Create action plan based on forecast and lead discussions to management & cross functional teams.
Hindsight in-season & post-season performance by product segment and share findings with cross functional teams.
Support the development of financial sales plans at the color and size level.
Analyze and develop size curve analytics to optimize eCommerce business.
Open-to-Buy/ Inventory Management
Create a streamlined markdown assortment strategy that allows for product to sell at maximum sell thru targets, Inventory productivity analysis with focus on WOS, sell through, and turnover
Maintain monthly OTB for assigned product segments, receipts and inventory on a monthly basis. Speak to changes and variances.
Ensure that on-order and committed receipts are delivering on time to support forecasts. Identify risks and drive action plans. Recommend “chasing” or “reflowing” receipts as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Comfortable in working in a fast-paced environment, flexible in changing direction as needed.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of how to maneuver through different software programs.
- PC literate with basic understanding and skills in using keyboard and Microsoft office products.
- Experience or understanding that they will be trained on warehouse material handling equipment.
- Ability to effectively multitask and change direction as needed.
- Candidate must be highly organized with ability to prioritize with a sense of urgency.
- WMS knowledge preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
4-6 years’ experience working in a buying or planning function
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing
or related field
Dynamic analytical, problem solving and project management abilities- must be a self-starter
Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities
Knowledge with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
Knowledge with Adobe applications: Photoshop & Illustrator
Able to work and think independently as well as part of a team.
