Responsibilities
Manage the daily activities and operations of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) team.
+ Collaborate on problem identification and resolution, cost containment issues, implementation of new services, and system/performance measures.
+ Manage development and implementation of new ideas that support project work streams and clinical teams.
+ Monitor anticoagulation, electrolyte, acid-base balance and blood-gas composition values and adjusts ECMO circuit to maintain physician's orders.
+ Generate and compile appropriate documentation and charges related to ECMO. Precept new team members.
+ Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
+ One or more of the following required:
+ Perfusionist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
+ Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
+ Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
+ Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
+ High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 2 years of experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
