Job Summary and Qualifications: Performs noninvasive and semi-invasive cardiac ultrasound procedures including, transthoracic (with contrast agent as needed), transesophageal (including intraoperative TEE), stress echo (treadmill or pharmacological), cardiac doppler and color flow doppler. Responsible for accurate measurements of cardiac chambers and valve areas for physician interpretation. Able to work varying assignments, adapts to schedule changes as needed including call shifts and call back. Follows policies and procedures of West Hospital. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and adheres to WFH standards of behavior. Manages stress appropriately and makes decisions under pressure. Able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Able to work alone with long periods of standing, sitting, bending, stooping, walking, stretching, pushing equipment. Communicates well with physicians regarding patient care and safety. Able to inject contrast agents as needed.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Certificate from Ultrasound school or program
- RDCS, RCS or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- One year of experience as a cardiac ultrasound technologist is preferred
