The EBP Audit Manager will lead and manage audit engagements for employee benefit plans, ensuring compliance with ERISA regulations and providing high-quality service to clients. This role involves overseeing audit teams, developing audit strategies, and fostering client relationships while maintaining the integrity and quality of audit processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee employee benefit plan audit engagements from planning to completion.
- Review and approve audit work papers and financial statements before finalization.
- Develop and implement audit strategies and methodologies to ensure compliance with ERISA regulations.
- Lead and mentor audit staff, providing guidance and training as necessary.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional service.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry developments and changes in regulations affecting employee benefit plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on employee benefit plan audits.
- In-depth knowledge of ERISA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing audit teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
