Tierra Encantada is the leader in Spanish immersion early education and provides high-quality language immersion education to children ages 6 weeks through 6 years of age. We are currently seeking a qualified full-time Assistant Director for both our Texas location! The Assistant Director will serve as the operational leader of one of our centers. Leading, coaching, and developing 30 to 40 staff members will be an important aspect of this position.
Duties:
Leading a team of people through daily operations
Becomes intimately familiar with Tierra Encantada's mission, values, and operations
Accountable for overall center safety, quality, and standards
Utilizes Microsoft 365 and Google Suites on a daily basis
Owns exceeding the expectations of Tierra Encantada families enrolled through excellent customer service
Exemplifies a community environment with staff and families through professional working relationships
Exemplify a shining example of good behavior and high performance
Consistency trains and motivates the center team through clear expectations and detailed follow up
Conducts staff performance reviews to assess training needs and build career paths
Creates strategic daily schedule planning by using critical thinking and resources
Owns expenses of the center through planning and budgeting
Evaluates and coaches to ensure licensing laws are being consistently maintained and followed
Responds to and owns security of the center
Maintains and safeguards confidential information
Must fulfill required training requirements and supports center objectives in achieving accreditations
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 2 years in a leadership position, daycare, or educational setting is a plus
Must have powerful leading skills and business orientation experience
Must love connecting with children, families, and teams while creating safe and fun experiences
Must be able to write, speak, and read English fluently and have proficient Spanish skills
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
Must have excellent proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suites (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms)
Must have the perceptual and cognitive judgment to be able to mitigate and respond to family concerns
Proven success in customer experience ratings is a plus
Proven success in retention and onboarding of new hire experience is a plus
This person will not be afraid to get their hands dirty and will jump in to help out in any part of the center to lead Tierra Encantada to success.
Qualified candidates will have the physical ability to perform essential job functions without health restrictions. This includes the ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time, to have unrestricted use of the upper and lower body, hearing and vision within normal ranges to be able to adequately ensure the children's safety, to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, to chase a fleeing child, to join children's play actively, and the ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, and climb stairs. They will have current First Aid/CPR certification or will be able to provide a certificate of completion of an approved pediatric first aid and CPR training within 90 days of hire. Employees are responsible for renewing and maintaining a valid, current CPR and pediatric first aid certification at all times. Must pass fingerprinting through DHS, and e-verify.

Pay: $44,000.00- $49,000 per year
