Position Overview
Our client, a growing company in the Austin Metro Area, is seeking an Accounting Consultant to provide expert-level accounting services. This role will involve collaborating closely with clients on financial reporting, month-end close, and technical accounting issues. The Accounting Consultant will be responsible for ensuring compliance with GAAP, managing audit preparation, and driving process improvements. The candidate will work on-site 5 days a week and may need to travel to client sites based on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including financial statement preparation and general ledger oversight.
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Provide expertise on technical accounting issues such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and stock-based compensation.
- Collaborate with clients on audit readiness and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support system implementations and process improvements to enhance accounting operations.
- Assist with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) by conducting financial due diligence and supporting post-merger integration.
- Prepare and present financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Accounting Consultant or senior accountant.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and technical accounting.
- Experience managing month-end close processes and financial audits.
- Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
Compensation
- Hourly rate ranging from $60 to $90 per hour, depending on experience.
