Responsibilities
The Sr. eLearning Curriculum Specialist is responsible for the creation of training curricula via several mediums to effectively increase the knowledge base and skills of ATPCO personnel and customers.
Responsibilities include designing and developing training content and artifacts for use in distance delivery and self-learning for employees and customers.
The primary focus of the Sr. eLearning Curriculum Specialist role is on the design and delivery of engaging, interactive training solutions aligned with the business strategy that appeal to diverse learning styles, including remote and virtual learners. The Sr. eLearning Curriculum Specialist has demonstrated proficiency with the design and development of multimedia elements (graphics, animations, audio and video) for use in e-Learning courseware.
The Sr. eLearning Curriculum Specialist cultivates relationships with Business unit leadership, Consultants, Instructors, Marketing & Sales staff, and industry subject experts to develop an agile and responsive process for a reliable, high quality, online learning content production pipeline.
This role consults with managers, supervisors, department level training specialists as well as individual team members to identify learning needs and to develop and maintain learning solutions that build functional capability, meet business objectives as well as support personal career development goals. These learning solutions may be a mix of internal as well as external resources.
The ELearning Curriculum Specialist has proven ability with advising training teams, SMEs, other internal stakeholders to assess training needs and select most appropriate structure, media, delivery formats depending on learning goals.
The Sr. eLearning Curriculum Specialist is expected to take a leadership role to work with ATPCO’s thought leaders to transform our proprietary knowledge into content suitable for distance learning.
Additionally, the Sr. eLearning Curriculum Specialist is responsible not only for updates to training curricula to support ATPCO products but also to make recommendations on best practices to translate complex technical documentation and business requirements into user friendly terminology and relevant, memorable interactions for a global clientele.
Essential Job Functions
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to transform existing content (learning resources, tools, knowledge, processes) into effective self-learning resources
- Proven experience designing and developing instructional materials
- Proficient user of authoring tools, visual graphics design tools, video, film, voice over, virtual classrooms
- Collaborates with Instructional Designers in designing on course interactivity, course theme, graphical user interfaces (GUI) layout, and developing multimedia elements
- Proven demonstration of increasingly expanding knowledge, skills and experience in creating complex animations and interactive elements for e-Learning courseware, to include multiple layers and branching, in animation software such as Adobe Flash or Flash editor tools
- Ability to collaborate with Instructional Designer, SMEs, and clients regarding ideas and themes for e-Learning courseware and to take ideas from a conceptual phase through implementation
- Proven effectiveness to mentor and train other designers on eLearning and multimedia tools
- Thorough knowledge of multimedia design principles, techniques and applications
- Experienced user of at least one leading LMS, preferably as LMS administrator or LMS technical specialist at the enterprise level
- Proven success in completing full design cycle of a range of distance and self-learning resources, leveraging input from subject matter experts and thought leaders, and translating into learning resources
- Maintain and curate self-service learning library
- Proven demonstration to plan and manage content development cycle in collaboration with Training Manager
- Proven demonstration of strong analytical skills and ability to learn and excel in a wide range of frameworks and concepts rapidly that are built around ATPCO’s proprietary software
- Ability to focus on big picture and on details

- Experience in an international professional services organization preferred
- Ability to team effectively and partner across multiple functions with all levels of employees, including most senior SMEs
- Solid command of and proven experience with ADDIE and Rapid Instructional Design principles
- Proven experience in administering learning programs with a leading LMS, preferably on NetDimensions EKP LMS: Upload new/modify existing courses to the LMS; Manage content via LMS-based content management system; configure new learning programs for external customers
- Develop implementation plans, processes and workflows that lead to recommended solutions
- Work closely with new/existing internal and external customers on technical issues
- Act as interface between ATPCO Product Training and third party vendors/consultants
- Recommend new ideas & improvements
- Establish & follow production schedules
- Registration reporting and lead reporting
- Demonstrate creativity and flexibility in course design
- Proven experience using a variety of techniques for determining instructional content and content sequencing
- Create storyboards for e-learning content (CBT/WBT) and virtual ILT (WebEx)
- Ability to read, understand, and explain concepts contained in technical documents
- Ability to understand, apply and incorporate customer business reasons, ATPCO coding conventions, and frequently asked questions into all documents created
- Specify instructional strategies (techniques, media and settings) used in the training delivery system to be developed
- Work closely with subject matter experts, program developers, management and other project stakeholders throughout the design process
- Create presentations for classes
- Experience with emerging learning tools and applications (eLearning, wiki’s, blogs, social media, virtual environments, etc.)
- Assist with extracting and synthesizing ATPCO Subject Matter Expert knowledge and defining training content
- Evaluate instructional effectiveness of the training course/module
- Identify and help facilitate the process for changes to curriculum or courses offered
Planning and Analysis
- Plan and manage instructional design projects
- Guide effective implementation of training programs
- Proven/Demonstrated success in evaluating and assessing instructional material and training programs
- Conduct analyses for both current and future course offerings/curricula
- Analyze existing and emerging technologies and their use in the learning environment, and make recommended changes in technologies to leadership as needed
- Provide continuous assessment of recurrent training needs, prioritization of needs, and execution of training
- Identify areas of improvement, propose plans for approval and design exercises/courses
- Evaluate training delivery, measure results and recommend program changes
- Write statements of performance objectives that reflect the intent of instruction
Project Management
- Coordinate project tasks with management and team members as needed
- Write project plans that identify the suggested medium of instruction
- Determine the timeline for project completion

Reporting and Logistics
- Collect and report applicable statistics within established deadlines
- Make recommended changes to Pr. Training programs through evaluation of feedback and key metrics to measure the effectiveness

- Ensure accuracy, completeness and appropriateness of new and existing
instructional materials and learning objects - Edit instructional materials and learning objects designed and developed by colleagues
- Produce high quality copy for learning content and business unit promotions and campaigns
Communication

Education
BA/BS in Educational Technology, Instructional System Design, Computer Science, Business Systems Management, or equivalent work experience
Graduate degree in Educational Technology, Educational Leadership (or related degree) or MBA is highly desirable
Work experience
- Five years of recent experience in e-learning course development, LMS administration, curriculum design, training methodologies and online education
- Two plus years supporting corporate learning function
- Two plus years technical writing / instructional design
- Proven ability in instructional design and instructional materials.
- MS Office Suite, including Visio, SharePoint/InfoPath
- Proficient with common industry courseware development tools and software applications (Adobe e-learning suite (Captivate/ConnectPro), Articulate Storyline, Macromedia Authorware, Director, Dreamweaver, RoboHelp X5, Acrobat Professional, SnagIt
