A Buyer is responsible for developing a financially sound assortment plan & merchandising strategy for the category. The position will work to create a cohesive merchandise mix to optimize sales volume and profitability, while maximizing the customer experience and driving revenue growth. Working closely within the CMT and leadership to hit the various important KPI metrics and support REEDS to reach hit planned inventory and sales.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for buying a category(s) with the oversight and guidance from a senior buyer or above
- Responsible for professional development while supervising, managing, and supporting the growth of direct reports. (if applicable)
- Responsible for merchandising REEDS.com to deliver an excellent customer experience resulting in improved conversion rates.
- Remain current with market and industry trends.
- Strategic and thoughtful implementation of trends within initiatives to drive sales and profitability
- Review competitive analysis for accuracy and to identify white space opportunities
- Apply and communicate REEDS rules of engagement & a standard of quality for merchandise to ensure product exceeds customer expectations and meets the minimum category standards required.
- Develop, curate, and manage assortments through strategic vendor partnerships focusing on white space, growth areas, key initiatives, and trends.
- Analyze sales to effectively maximize strong sellers and develop effective exit strategies for underperforming products.
- Manage and analyze online product assortments.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships to include key item selections. Communicate vendor contracts, payment terms and product costs.
- Coordinate with Senior Buyer to be proactive in developing vendor meeting cadence and requesting appointments with vendors based on vendor strategy.
- Prepare for productive vendor meetings while establishing appropriate invitees and agenda topics. Articulate product strategies and initiatives to develop and source products which support initiatives.
- Review accuracy of set up and maintenance of vendor files.
- Adhere to and manage open to buy budgets.
- Set up, protect and monitor the integrity of the category’s gross margins.
- Act as the liaison between merchandising, marketing, and the e-commerce teams to support product and promotional needs. Tasks not limited to but including; catalog, categorization, attributions, copy, images, in store display & signage, elements.
- Responsible for studying and presenting monthly category business updates in partnership with the analytics team on responsible areas. Provide insights and strategy to support positive impacts on business.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a strong relationship with category analyst to ensure business opportunities are being maximized and explored; not limited to but encompassing GM & inventory management. (If category requires CMT partnership)
- Support uploads of product information including new product additions and product changes.
- Participate in the alignment of product photography, copy strategies and digital marketing.
- Responsible for the inventory movement of merchandise for web photography or video.
- Monitor inventory for key products on site to support email and digital marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with Copywriters and Buyers on new product set up including categorization, attribution, reviewing product copy, and adding product images
- Consistently look for opportunities to improve product display pages on site through enhanced product attributing, imagery or user experience.
- Supports website maintenance and enhancements including SEO updates, redirects, site errors and user testing.
- Continuously monitor the quality of merchandise to ensure merchandise exceeds customer expectations.
- Work closely with Customer Service Team in troubleshooting product or customer issues that arise on site.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
This opportunity is located in our corporate headquarters in the beautiful coastal city of Wilmington, NC. The timing of relocation may be flexible. The position requires a minimum of two days in the office and the balance is work from home. Our team adheres to all safety and security guidelines.

Position Requirements:
· Work from REEDS Home Office 2 days a week minimum (flexible based on relocation timeline)
· Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
· Attend after hours job functions; dinners, trainings, events, when needed
· Conduct business affairs in a legal and ethical manner, building a socially conscious environment.

· Dress code- Business casual; no athletic sneakers, no ripped jeans. Vendor meetings require professional dress; no denim
