About the Job
The Department of Social and Health Services, Technology Innovation Administration, is hiring a Senior Information Technology Project Manager.
Your ability to identify business needs and translate them into technical needs will help Transform Lives by enhancing the department's ability to provide services to clients.
You'll apply a project management methodology based on the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide and Standards) and the statewide IT Project Management Framework best practices.
Based in Olympia, this job allows for telework.
Some of what you'll do
What we're looking for
A bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field
And
Seven years of information technology project management experience in planning, analyzing, consulting, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, network infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing customer or technical support or administering or supervising staff who performed work in any of these information technology disciplines.
(Additional experience will substitute, year-for-year, for IT education. A master’s degree in IT will substitute for 2 years of experience.)

Some of what you'll do
- Direct complex, multi-agency infrastructure and system implementation projects; lead strategic initiatives to integrate new technologies with existing enterprise technologies
- Perform feasibility studies to determine the best alternative for small or medium-sized enterprise technology systems
- Actively manage project management plans and change management processes; direct and manage scope, budget, schedule, resources, requirements, issues, risks, communication, and change
- Perform complex analysis to determine needs and make recommendations affecting multiple applications, networks, platforms, and telecommunication environments
- Identify, develop, and maintain policies/procedures governing the conduct of IT projects and business process design/delivery
- Lead groups of subject matter experts and IT professionals through the business problem definition process
- Work with customers to provide options and recommendations on policy issues and procedural change
- Develop and present recommendations to management and administrators on the overall strategy, architecture, and funding options
- Procurement of effective contractual/vendor services and performance contract monitoring duties
What we're looking for
