Driver (Full-Time & Part-Time) - Peterson Meadows Campus - Wesley Willows Corporation

Summary:

Responsible for coordinating and transporting residents throughout campus, to and from appointments and events in a safe and professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

• Must be able to safely and efficiently operate a passenger van, shuttle van, and bus.
• Must be able to communicate by telephone and in person in a clear, courteous, friendly, and professional manner with residents, guests, co-workers, and other persons.
• Must be able to read, understand, and complete driver trip sheets and read and understand inter-office communications, schedules, or other documents.
• Adhere to safe methods of assisting residents in and out of vehicles and buildings.
• Adhere to wheelchair safety procedures.
• Must track maintenance and repair needs for company vehicles, communicate needs with maintenance, and schedule appointments for necessary maintenance of vehicles.
• Complete all other related duties as requested by the Assistant Director.

Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:

• Must possess an active Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) - Required.
• Must maintain a clean moving vehicle record, per DOT standards.
• Must pass yearly DOT physical for CDL renewal.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Good interpersonal relations with proven communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit for 3-4 hours during an 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to stand and walk for 3-4 hours during an 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to frequently lift 10 to 25 pounds while walking or bending at the waist and knees.
• Must be able to frequently push, pull, or move carts and wheelchairs, exerting a force of 50 to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to use wrists, fingers, and hands for repetitive firm grasping, driving a vehicle, and operating a computer and telephone.

Other federally regulated requirements:

• Must be willing to undergo pre-employment background check, including (MVR) moving vehicle records.

• Must have or be willing to receive the Flu-Shot Vaccine and TB testing.

• Must be willing to undergo pre-employment drug screening, including cannabis.

• Must be willing to undergo biometric screening.
