A Department Director is one who consistently demonstrates our core values, embraces the Chick-fil-A culture and has a servant’s heart. They have a passion for people and serving others, have strong character, take initiative and work with a sense of urgency at all times. Our Department Directors are responsible for leading Shift Supervisors and taking an overall ownership of their department's function. They ensure Operational Excellence and 2nd Mile Service is occurring daily. Department Directors manage their department's staffing and scheduling. They are responsible for the training and development of their team. Finally, they lead by example and set the tone that others will follow.

Department Director Responsibilities:
- Leading with ownership in a high-volume, fast-paced Restaurant
- Manage team's availability and create schedule
- When needed, lead shifts, including placement of team members and running breaks
- Oversee department training
- Ensure proper management of inventory and food cost
- Strong understanding of money management and involvement in financial return goals
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken

- Ability to work in a team environment with shared ownership and responsibility of restaurant goals and values
- Prior experience as shift lead, crew lead, supervisor, team lead, restaurant manager, restaurant assistant manager is not required but is preferred.
