As a Drawbench Machine Operator you will:
- Operate a drawbench machine to shape metal rods, tubes, or wires
- Watch machine operations for defects or malfunctions
- Clean and prepare metal rods/tubes for processing.
- Secure the die and place the rod/tube in the draw bench.
- Adjust levers and buttons to set the draw speed and start the operation.
- Insert the rod through the die and into the holding jaws.
- Place long tubes into the pointer machine for swaging.
- Coat materials with lubricating chemicals, and mix chemicals if needed.
- Use a saw to cut metal materials if required.
- Help with various department tasks and move parts as needed.
- Check workpieces to ensure they meet specifications.
- Measure workpiece dimensions if necessary.
- Keep the work area clean and organized
- Be punctual, follow directions, interact well with coworkers, adhere to company policies, and accept feedback
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
The ideal candidate will have:.
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED)
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment
- Ability to operate and maintain drawbench machines.
- Proficiency with hand tools for setting up and adjusting dies.
- Basic understanding of machine operation and control settings
- Ability to follow all safety guidelines and protocols.
- Ability understand and follow standard operating and safety procedures.
- Basic knowledge of and ability to use basic hand tools and measuring devices.
- Read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to handle, install and position material.
- Ability to use basic mathematical equations, including decimal calculations.
- 1st shift: 5 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- 2nd shift: 1:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
- 3rd shift: 10:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m

$18 - $21 per hour
