This position will provide a gas card, vehicle, health insurance, and profit sharing among other benefits. Successful candidates will have:
- Drain cleaning experience is preferred, but not required
- Valid driver's license
- An interest in the plumbing field and desire to learn new skills
- Clean background and DMV record
- Ability to work in small spaces
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of property services industry preferred
The Drain Cleaner Technician is responsible for partnering with the Drain Cleaning Service Manager to ensure efficiency and quality of work for the Gittleman Maintenance Drain Cleaning team.
- Cable cleaning of branch and main lines
- Cable cleaning and jetting of risters in high rise buildings (up to 45 stories)
- Electric, gas, and truck jetting and thawing of sewer, waste and rainwater systems
- Sump, effluent trap, and storm water experience preferred
- Camera inspections, locator equipment, and diagnostics
- Must maintain regular and punctual attendance to required shifts, meetings, trainings and related employment engagements to support position responsibilities and duties. Any alterations to required schedule must be reviewed and approved, in advance by your supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:

- Ability to work a minimum of 8 working hours each workday
- Ability to adjust, lift, push and pull heavy objects a minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel and balance regularly
- Ability to do ladder/step work which could include carrying ladders, scaffolding and walking up/down stairs
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment
- Must maintain safety procedures at all times to prevent work injuries
