Drafter/Pipeline Mapper - HGA Integrated Services

Position Summary & Duties:

The Civil Mapping Drafter position is a DPE position working for HGA's Integrated Services Business Unit in our Ruston, LA, Birmingham, AL, Lexington, KY, or Hattiesburg, MS office. 
The Drafter position performs a variety of drafting and design duties with minimal supervision. Transfers information from engineer or designer to finished quality drawing. Prepares drawings in accordance with the appropriate drafting standards. Prepares drawings from a conceptual layout to detailed finished product.

DRAFTER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Produce neat, accurate, and legible construction drawings packages according to company procedures and drafting standards with minimal supervision.
• Work must be accurate, very thorough, and must pay attention to detail.
• Preparation of working drawings by transferring Engineer’s and/or Designer’s marks using AutoCAD.
• Assist in preparation of drawing packages for issue, including plotting drawings, making copies, assembling drawings & document packages, and assuring package completeness.
• Assist engineers/designers in completing field work as required to obtain measurements and sketches for design work.




Qualifications:

DRAFTER EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Degree in Drafting and Design Technology (2-year program minimum) required; 2-years of industry experience can be substituted for the degree.
• Related industrial drafting experience is a plus (1-3 years of experience is preferred)

DRAFTER SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Proficient at AutoCAD with ability to produce 2D drawings.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to effectively use MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
• Able and willing to follow company procedures and drafting standards.
• Displays good work ethic.
• Ability to collaborate with project teams to meet client goals. 
• Capability to conduct research into project-related issues and products.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills.
• Must live within daily commuting distance of our Ruston, LA, Birmingham, AL, Lexington, KY, or Hattiesburg, MS office.
