Position Title: Draft Technician
Department: Operations
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Position Summary:
The Draft Technician is responsible for properly installing, maintaining, and repairing draft beer systems at client locations. This role ensures systems are in optimal working condition, meeting customer demands and industry standards, and supporting the company's mission of providing high-quality beverage distribution services across New York State.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair draft beer systems at customer sites, ensuring all connections are secure and systems function properly.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of draft systems, including cleaning, draining kegs, and performing repairs as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with malfunctioning draft systems in a timely and efficient manner.
- Respond promptly to client service requests and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Conduct special event setups and assist with additional service needs as requested.
- Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, inventory, and any other relevant updates.
- Perform weekly keg counts and inventory in collaboration with other team members.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards during installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Manage POS systems in an orderly fashion and support quality control for brands such as Molson Coors and Sierra Nevada.
- Conduct monthly training sessions for new salespeople on how to handle basic draft issues and ensure they are equipped to manage straightforward tasks.
- Focus on in-house and draft calls
- Track inventory of micrometrics and place orders as necessary.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in draft system installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong knowledge of beer dispensing systems, refrigeration, and plumbing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot system issues effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Work Environment:
The Draft Technician will primarily work in the field at client locations throughout New York State. This role requires occasional overnight travel and may involve physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
