The IT Security Administrator (ISA) is responsible for a wide range of security functions, including administering access controls on mainframes for all statewide users, DTI staff, employees, contractors, and vendors, as well as managing physical security through proprietary administration and surveillance monitoring. The role involves implementing and maintaining security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines for DTI facilities/computing systems and various state entities. The ISA monitors and analyzes security alerts using tools like SIEM systems, performs initial triage to validate potential threats, investigates suspicious activities, and contains threats. They document incidents, prepare reports on cyberthreats and trends for stakeholders, and support agency Information Security Officers with troubleshooting. Additionally, the ISA conducts vulnerability assessments, assists with compliance audits, provides physical security for DTI work locations, and prepares security violation logs and regular reports. The role requires continuous learning to stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and may involve providing 2nd level support to the DTI Service Desk and supporting customer agencies with security expertise and problem resolution. Collaboration with a larger security team is essential to maintain the organization's security posture and ensure business continuity.
