About the Job
We are full-service waterproofing and restoration contractor looking for a deadline-driven construction DOT Superintendent to oversee our construction projects and act as the link between various project parties. In this role, you will lead and manage the on-site construction team and oversee all work on-site (Indianapolis & Ft Wayne, IN area). You will also be responsible for orderliness and ensure compliance with safety regulations. You will ensure quality standards are met and all equipment and materials are always available on-site. You will liaise with inspection authorities regarding approvals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee daily operations at the construction site.
- Hires, trains, and manages construction workers, maintaining the reputation of high-quality craftsmanship.
- Develop and maintain complete and detailed project schedule and manage work in accordance with the schedule (cost objectives of employees, materials, and equipment as well as quality control on the job site).
- Positive, efficient, and effective supervision of crews ranging from 10-50 employees over multiple projects.
- Makes sure all local, state, and national business codes and regulations are followed.
- Effective and timely resolution of conflicts and disputes to minimize delays and claims.
- Ability to instruct and supervise field labor activities and field staff on the processes, policies, and procedures essential to the project. Also, able to provide disciplinary or corrective action in a professional manner.
- Monitor performance, coordinate work to maintain productivity, and ensure an adequate workforce.
- Ensure all contract documents construct all work.
- Works directly with the project manager and other specialists.
SUPERINTENDENT QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Construction site management, project management, and organizational skills are necessary.
- Construction Safety (OSHA certification is a plus)
- Demonstrates strong organization and problem-solving skills.
- Excels at motivating a team.
- Effective and professional communication skills and leadership.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office- including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint & spec reading.
- Experience managing subcontractors, and vendors.
- Experience working with concrete and other materials for bridge/road repairs- removal & replacement.
Relevant skills and qualifications that would be beneficial include proficiency with construction management software such as Procore.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate's or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 5 years experience as a Superintendent within a specialty contractor and experience with self-performing contractors.
- Travel is required for this position; the employee must be willing to travel to surrounding job sites in the Indiana area.
- The employee must have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: As a Superintendent the employee will be subject to various work environments. Work environments may include but are not limited to the following: seasonal temperatures, high spaces, small spaces, loud and frequent noises, standing/walking for up to 12 hours a day, indoor/outdoor settings, and areas close to traffic.
TRAVEL: You must be willing to travel to our job sites.
