DOT COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR
Location: Orange, CA
Summary: We have plans to significantly increase the size of our private fleet. We are looking for a Transportation Analyst that will use and monitor data to enhance performance and stabilize compliance with State and Federal requirements.
Compensation: This is a non-exempt, hourly role. Hourly rates start at $22.00 , plus Over Time (paid at 1.5x), plus Bonuses. Annual pay for new hires generally ranges between $62,900 and $74,300 or more, depending on experience, overtime hours worked and bonuses.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Complete yearly carrier compliance forms UCR, EZ2290, MCS-150, CARB Compliance, etc.
- Effectively manage equipment devices for 650 assets (trucks, trailers, cars)
- Track and submit HUT & IFTA Tax records/ payments
- Work hand in hand with asset vendors in regards to pricing and asset acquisition of cars, truck, trailers etc.
- Manage vehicle devices used for tracking and safety monitoring (Geotab Devices & Lytx Devices)
- Utilize reports and provide feedback both to the effected location and Management
- Audit vehicle specifications for need enhancements includes diesel trucks, commercial flatbeds, and dry van trailers
- Complete registration process for commercial and non-commercial vehicles include DOT mandated vehicle decals- complete once truck can be used in compliance with DOT
- Maintain asset data base to keep current records of totals, purchased amount, year of purchase etc.
- Create and analyze reports based on carrier performance
- Manage and support multiple locations across the United States
- Create SOP’s to aid in high performance and process improvement
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Equivalent work experience preferred
- Proficient in the Microsoft office suite of products
- Experience managing Interstate commercial vehicles inclusive of registration, mandatory maintenance, and yearly compliance
- Strong organizational skills needed to manage assets topping 650
- Strong project management skills: ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly
- Strong analytical skills to process information and use it to reach conclusions and support recommendations
- Excellent oral and written English language communication skills
- Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT Regulations
- Bilingual – Spanish Preferred
This role has the following physical demands:
- Generate 137lbs of vertical push/pull force.
- Able to lift and transfer 65lbs.
- Able to carry at least 30lbs the length of the truck bed.
- Able to ascend and descend multiple-rung ladder.
- Able to frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch.
- Able to work at elevated height of 72” above the ground while assembling and disassembling strap, ties, ratchets, nuts, bolts, and other securing or fastening equipment.
- Able to work at lowered height of 6” above the ground while assembling and disassembling strap, ties, ratchets, nuts, bolts, and other securing or fastening equipment.
