EPIC EXP 100% REQUIRED 2+ YEARS OF NICU EXP FIRM Level of NICU: 3 # of beds: 20 Ratios: 1:1-3 depending on acuity and staffing Required Certifications: NRP, BLS Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Extremely premature/premature patients, BPD, HIE, feeding intolerance, respiratory support, sepsis/meningitis Experience or 'Must have' skills: Ability to care for gestations down to 23 weeks, all respiratory equipment, use of feeding pumps Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips: BP drugs, TPN/D10, Insulin Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Both Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: No Neonatologist in house 24/7?: Neonatologist – no ARNP/PA yes RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): HFOV, HFJV, Conventional vent, CPAP, HFNC, NC Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?: Yes, nurses read strips Shifts & Scheduling: 3-12s per week – 4 week schedules Weekend Requirement: Can be every weekend Holiday Requirement: Possible - individualized to contract. Is there a call or standby requirement?: If not needed, will be put on standby Floating Requirements: Can float to peds to care for NICU grads, any patient until 12 months of age or be a 1:1 sitter for a behavioral health patient Scrub Color/Dress Code: Royal Blue Unit/Departments specific orientation: 1-2 shifts of orientation
