Description
The Domestic Consignment Specialist, Field Support is responsible for managing implant and instrument retrievals for surgical cases to ensure our surgeon customers have a “Great Day in the O.R.” They enable the company to optimize cash flow performance by providing the highest levels of customer service through consistent policies, procedures, processes, reporting and accurate inventory tracking and optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage implant and instrument retrievals for all orders when product cannot be supplied from Gainesville office for surgical cases; requires on-call support, crisis management and shipping coordination after-hours during the week and weekends.
- Document all retrieval activities and report results on a monthly basis to Team Leader.
- Serve as escalation contact for Inventory Services and the Loaner Program when they need assistance supporting miscellaneous retrieval efforts.
- Responsible for understanding and balancing Field Sales supply and demand issues of targeted and non-targeted customers with internal supply chain strategies.
- Carries out inventory optimization plans, Product Lifecycle programs, systems and audits for managing field inventory logistics to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Report results to Field Sales, Sales Management and Supply Chain Team as directed.
- Audit domestic field inventory to ensure optimization of corporate assets.
- Know and apply the Quality System and any appropriate Federal and International standards.
- Assist and support other employees, teams, and sales personnel as necessary.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution required.
- In lieu of degree, 2+ years’ experience in medical device inventory management required.
Experience:
- 3 years’ experience in customer service, crisis management, logistical inventory management of multiple field locations preferred.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Possess the ability to propose sound tactical and strategic charges that support the goals of the company, while still assuring the customer has all inventory available to carry out surgeries.
- Ability to exercise judgment with respect to process and quality systems.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work under pressure for emergency situations.
- Ability to meet the medical requirements to gain entry into individual hospitals and hospital systems as needed.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software suite.
- Experience with inventory management software.
- Ability to travel 20% of job
