Lead the long range planning for the business, application, data and technical architecture for the solutions in a specific domain. Ensuring all solutions within that domain work logically and coherently together.
We are seeking a skilled Domain Architect to lead the modeling of our current state and define the preferred future state roadmaps for our information systems architecture. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of information systems, architecture frameworks, and best practices. You will play a crucial role in aligning technology assets with business processes, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency across our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Current State Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing information systems, applications, and technologies.
- Document current state architecture, including data flows, integration points, and system interactions.
· Future State Roadmaps:
- Develop detailed roadmaps for the preferred future state of the information systems architecture.
- Identify gaps between current and future states and propose strategic solutions to bridge these gaps.
· Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs.
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to align technology strategies with business objectives.
· Architecture Design:
- Create and maintain architectural models, including diagrams, flowcharts, and documentation to support proposed solutions.
- Document architecture decisions associated with the current and preferred future state architectures
- rack, manage and define plans to mitigate technical debt and includes debt associated with individual applications, system integration, and other software engineering aspects.
· Operational Excellence
- Identify Service level indicators and objectives for the associated Information Systems/application to inform build and run-time metrics.
- Document quality attributes scenarios for non-functional requirements in collaboration with business partners.
· Governance and Compliance:
- Establish and enforce architectural governance frameworks and standards.
- Monitor compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
· Technology Evaluation:
- Partner with the Technical Architecture organization on evaluation emerging technologies, tools, and platforms to recommend enhancements to the information systems architecture.
- Assess the impact of new technologies on existing systems and business processes.
· Mentoring and Leadership:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects and technical staff.
- Lead cross-functional teams in architecture-related initiatives and projects.
Skills and Abilities
- Functional domain experience in one or more of the following: Clearance, Airline Operations, Labor Planning, Human Resources, Revenue, and/or On-Time Service Management.
- Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
- Knowledge of and ability to design and improve organizational IT structures and blueprints to better support business operations and efficiently achieve organizational objectives.
- Manage segments of the enterprise business capability model and provide business architecture and solution architecture viewpoints, recommendations and roadmaps in support of key enterprise strategies.
- Understanding of the issues related to the decision-making process; ability to analyze situations fully and accurately and reach productive decisions.
- Experience working with and deploying systems which incorporate best practice principles, patterns, and tools
- Collaboration skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment and interact with resources from technical and non-technical organizations
- Strong understanding of business capability management strategies and solutions with hands-on experience architecting, designing, implementing, and delivering solutions
- Ability to identify opportunities for reusable data services to reduce data duplication
- Knowledge of, and ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives.
- Knowledge of and ability to design, apply and evaluate new information technologies for business environments to improve work productivity and accuracy.
- Knowledge and ability to create and evolve an enterprises' guiding principles and business architecture including organization structure, process architecture and performance management, as well as supporting information, applications and technology.
- Experience working with Business and IT Architects in architecture roadmaps and modeling tools (e.g., IRIS, Sparx, or other similar tools).
- Knowledge of Business Architecture Guild (BIZBOK) and The Open Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or similar architectural frameworks.
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience and architecture practice experience
- Proven executive presentation skills
Domicile Information:
This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need. Preferred locations are Memphis, TN, Pittsburgh, PA, Orlando, FL, Dallas, TX
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information Systems, business and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
Minimum Experience
Five (5) years work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the currentstarting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factorspermitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: U.S. Pay Range: $110,496 to $198,900
