Our Garden Group, providing sales support and logistics for both proprietary brands and other consumer-recognized brands, is searching for a Division Director to be responsible for the merchandising strategy and execution through the CRSST Region Directors and their respective teams, within the Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Walmart stores in the assigned division. This position is focused on leading their assigned team and their business relationships with the CRSST Regions + Districts and Lowe’s + Home Depot Region, District, and Store Management across their assigned CRSST Division to grow Central’s Garden business.
This position reports to the Vice President Central Retail Sales and Service
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Train, motivate, guide, and provide direction to Region Directors and Division Managers within an assigned area
- Work with VP – CRSST to plan and direct the organization’s operational policies, objectives, and initiatives
- Implement operational policies to meet the needs of the business, produce on-time and sustainable results, and minimize risk
- Monitor operational and productivity metrics for achievement of organizational objectives
- Establish, maintain, and leverage relationships across multiple internal and external job functions
- Identifying problems with staff performance and addressing them
- Must be able to lead by example through extensive regional travel and market assistance
- Provide guidance to Region Directors and Regional Sales Coordinators on enhancing and improving CENTRAL relationships with HD RMMs, Lowes RFMs, and Regional Inventory Managers
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
- BA/BS degree preferred
- 5+ years of related business experience
- Management experience, preferred
- General knowledge of the retail industry – knowledge of Home Depot and Lowe’s required; knowledge of Walmart preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Ability to analyze reports and summarize to provide to the team
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. consistently throughout the course of the workday.
- Must have a valid driver’s license in the state in which you reside, a good driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of current personal car insurance
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to travel weekly throughout territory may require frequent overnight stays
- Utilize smartphone and laptop for daily communication
- Retail store environment – both in-store and garden center
- Work week is Monday - Friday and some weekends during Peak Season (March - June)
