Our company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Division Controller to join our team in the construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional who is ready to take their career to the next level. As the Division Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the department. This includes budgeting, financial reporting, risk management and year-end close procedures. You will be an integral part of our team, ensuring that our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial operations within the division, including budgeting, financial reporting, and risk management.
2. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations to drive business decisions.
3. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
4. Lead the year-end close process, including the preparation and review of all financial statements and reports.
5. Manage and mentor a team of financial professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
6. Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve financial efficiency.
7. Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
8. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
9. Manage relationships with external auditors and other financial vendors.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. An advanced degree or professional certification (such as CPA or CMA) is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
4. Proficiency in budgeting, financial reporting, risk management, and general ledger management.
5. Proven experience in leading the year-end close process.
6. Exceptional leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and mentor a team.
7. Strong analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
9. Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
11. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
