LC State invites applications for the position of Division Chair of Nursing & Health Sciences.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: Base salary + $25,000
Degree Required: Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a master's degree in nursing OR master's degree in nursing with at least 5 years of nursing education leadership experience and a commitment to begin a doctoral program within one year of hire to the position and demonstration of steady progress toward completion of the degree.
Required Qualifications:
- Evidence of experience with professional accreditation and a substantial record of academic leadership experience.
- Must hold current unencumbered ID and WA RN license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience.
- Evidence of effective leadership for curriculum development, advising, eLearning, scholarship, budgets, and personnel.
- Experience in student recruitment and retention.
- Experience serving on leadership and cross-collaborative teams that foster effective partnerships within institutions and other higher education institutions.
- Development of partnerships with healthcare sites in the region and the state.
Responsibilities:
The Nursing & Health Sciences (NHS) Division Chair reports to the Associate Dean of the School of Professional Studies (SPS) and serves as a member of the SPS and institutional Chairs' councils in support of meeting the strategic goals of the NHS Division and of the institution. The Chair provides leadership for all Division programs (including on-campus, outreach, and online programs), personnel, and professional accreditation (CCNE & JRCERT). The Chair facilitates communication within the Division, with college leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with college and state policies.
- Establishes and maintains collaborative and collegial relationships on and off campus.
- Advises the Associate Dean of SPS on issues relative to NHS Division programs.
- Advises the Associate Dean of SPS, Dean of SPS, and Provost on college-wide matters as requested.
- Coordinates with appropriate areas within the college to ensure high-quality current instruction, programming, and advising.
- Communicate issues and recommendations to appropriate college personnel.
- Develop appropriate communication processes including updating of Division website.
- Collaborates on marketing opportunities with Division Faculty, College Communications, and the Associate Dean of SPS.
