Job Summary: The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of distribution, including order fulfillment and delivery operations. This role ensures the highest level of customer satisfaction, efficient delivery processes, and accurate inventory control. The Distribution Supervisor works closely with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and meet business objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise employees, including training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Assist in recruitment, hiring, training, and termination processes as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all company operating policies.
- Perform other responsibilities based on business needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Customer Service
- Communicate with customers before orders are scheduled for delivery, providing necessary information and delivery time windows.
- Work closely with the sales team to maximize customer satisfaction and address issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience.
Order Delivery
- Coordinate, organize, and plan daily and future deliveries and transfers.
- Ensure orders are scheduled, prioritized, and accurately documented.
- Maintain accurate and well-organized delivery tracking boards.
- Supervise and provide leadership to a team of drivers, offering guidance, support, and training to enhance operational efficiency and foster a positive team culture.
- Track product rejections, delivery reschedules, and any other delivery exceptions.
- Work closely with the National Distribution Team to allocate resources effectively.
- Collaborate with the sales team to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all orders are properly manifested in METRC.
- Manage important documents such as invoices, cash receipts, manifests, etc.
- Work with drivers and customers to resolve any issues.
Order Fulfillment
- Perform daily activities to fulfill orders in a timely manner.
- Ensure all outbound orders are accurate and properly documented.
- Oversee the picking and packing of orders and ensure order accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized picking and packing area.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Case Packaging, Compliance, and Sales, to ensure proper workflow and communication.
- Routinely conduct cycle counts and properly document all inventory movements.
- Oversee and manage the fulfillment team.
- Develop and maintain SOPs related to order processing and management.
- Ensure a safe working environment and efficient space utilization.
- Oversee and evaluate stock rotation procedures using FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Ensure all order boxes are properly labeled with customer name, order number, box count, and METRC tags.
- Ensure all orders are released and fulfilled before the delivery date.
- Oversee METRC package creation and troubleshoot any errors with the compliance team.
- Adhere to all state regulations related to the storage and movement of inventory within the facility.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be at least 21 years of age, per state law.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple processes.
- Ability to operate and drive company vehicles.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of management experience.
- 2+ years of experience in distribution and logistics.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management.
- Working knowledge of basic software systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
- Working knowledge of METRC and/or Leaf Link software preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift 15 pounds or more.
