Content Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering Disney’s entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and managing a global content supply chain – the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format. This team also manages technology operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
VOD Distribution is responsible for providing internal and external support for Video-On-Demand (VOD) content distribution activities for DE+E broadcast and cable networks, including ABC, Disney Channels, Freeform, FX and National Geographic Networks
Job Summary:
This role will interact with many internal and external Disney partners such as Media Services, Broadcast Operations, Programming, Sales, Ad Sales, Media Engineering, and Marketing. Candidate must maintain a high level of customer service at all times. As a key point of contact for VOD delivery and CableLabs ADI metadata management, the role will also be accountable for database accuracy and assuring the technical compliance requirements of our VOD partners. Some of the key day to day tasks will include:
+ Providing timely communication to incoming affiliate MVPD inquiries and support incoming requests and resolutions with Manager.
+ Distribute delivery planners and communicate delivery schedules to all entitled affiliates and MVPDs.
+ Perform deliveries of media using internal and external applications and tools including Aspera, Signiant, Media Monorail, Mediator, Jellyroll, Aspera and Media Monorail to any North American client.
+ Redeliver VOD packages to affiliates/MVPDs, as requested.
+ Help to maintain and track affiliate/MVPD issues to escalate to Manager, Sr. Manager, Director
+ Oversee automated and manual Aspera VOD and DAI ads and promos deliveries to MVPDs, and monitor all distribution to ensure timeliness of deliveries and steady state of ecosystem.
+ Confirm all entertainment programming assets are delivered as scheduled by programming teams and within all Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
+ Assist with communication of takedown alerts and affiliate alerts for high profile content deliveries and programming priorities.
+ Assist team with daily reporting and tactical tasks related to Canoe DAI assets/metadata, Nielsen VOD TIC Encoding data, and daily management of DAI Google reports with Ad Sales
+ Assist manager in developing, documenting, maintaining and enforcing media management, storage and content security policies.
+ Work under general supervision of Managers, Sr. Managers and Director
+ Performs routine/structured tasks in the entry level
A successful candidate in this role must have the ability to self-motivate and work in a detail-oriented, fast paced, multi-network environment. You will have opportunities to collaborate across teams to sort, analyze, and document key functions and processes into one or more consolidated repositories. As well as leverage current technology to better streamline VOD and Distribution Operations related to communication, asset and metric tracking, in an effort to streamline processes.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
+ VOD asset and distribution management including any redeliveries, failures or issue mitigation
+ Communication between external MVPD clients and internal teams
+ Data reporting and tracking in systems
Required Education
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ 1 year of experience in media packaging and distribution and/or television operations experience preferred
+ Broadcast/Cable television, Studio, or Post Production house experience is preferred
+ Standard understanding of business tools and applications such as Google suite, exemplary data analysis and Excel proficiency
+ Familiarity with media delivery tools such as Aspera and Signiant
+ Basic understanding and deep interest in television operations and broadcast/streaming technology platforms
+ Ability to adapt and learn new systems, technology in rapidly changing environments
+ Affinity for Disney brands and values
