About the Job
The Distribution Clerk is responsible for timely and accurate preparation and processing of customer orders, maintaining records and logs for warranty information and repairs sent to manufacturer, as well as customer contact and processing of orders on an as needed basis.
• Prepares box stock for use by operation of box taping machine or by hand taping of boxes
• Views customer orders in computerized order system
• Pulls and packages appropriate equipment and/or medications to fill order
• Affixes proper prescription and barcode labels to medication boxes, handwrites any special instructions (i.e., signature required, UPS only, etc) on the barcode label, and forwards the filled order to the pharmacist for verification prior to shipment
• Stocks work stations with appropriate supplies and product/equipment
• Prepares packages for shipment using computerized shipping systems by creating and affixing accurate shipping labels, sorting the packages by carrier, and stacking them in the appropriate area for pickup by the designated carrier
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, shipping supply area, and work stations neat
• May operate forklift and/or pallet jack
• Communicates with customers via inbound and outbound manual and/or automated calls
• Assesses customer need for additional products/services, including product/warranty repairs
• Assesses customer compliance with physician orders
• Answers questions and provides customer education regarding products/services, within Board of Pharmacy Regulations, if applicable
• Documents calls in computerized record keeping system
• Enters customers' orders in computerized system
• Verifies and updates demographic information such as address and telephone number in computerized records
• Responsible for meeting specific performance objectives related to orders filled, orders shipped, number of calls handled, orders processed, time on call, time entering information in computerized system, etc.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Graduate from an accredited high school or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail with good computer skills
• Comprehend verbal and written instructions
• May have to obtain a Pharmacy Technician License in the state of employment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS - The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
