Overview:POSITION SUMMARY: Provides daily, hands-on direction and supervision of inventory movement within the Distribution Center. Responsible for the daily direction and supervision of designated staff. Assists with accountability and administrative tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:Essential Functions Statements
- Assists with work activities of fixed crew processors as necessary.
- Creates, modifies, and updates daily Distribution Center priorities checklist and ensures list is completed daily.
- Assists with the accurate and timely completion of distribution center administrative tasks as assigned.
- Assists with the accurate tracking and disbursement of inventory/product. Communicates with dispatch to ensure all parties are prepared for and aware of product distribution/movement.
- Completes daily forklift inspections.
- Maintains proper flow of inventory / product in the distribution center. Adheres to the “first in, first out” philosophy to ensure fresh inventory is always circulating.
- Designates appropriate locations for all inventory and ensures all inventory is staged in the appropriate area for either storage or immediate usage. Ensures processing crews have adequate product for daily use. Ensures product is staged for next day the evening prior. Anticipates product arrival.
- Performs daily walk-through of the distribution center and ensures basic order and cleanliness.
- Assists with the upkeep and maintenance of assigned site to include ensuring that all supplies are stocked, submitting maintenance requests, and informing the manager of any repair needs.
- Safeguards all donations and company property from damage and theft. Treats all donations and company property with respect and care.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations and performs all assigned duties in a safe manner according to all company safety guidelines and ensures others do the same.
- Assists in writing / issuing and provides feedback for the completion and issuance of designated staff Five Minute Goal Setting Conversations and Annual Performance Evaluations.
- Performs other miscellaneous tasks as assigned or directed.
Qualifications:
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Two years of logistics experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Email, MS Word, and MS Excel.
Certificates & Licenses: Valid CA Driver's License with driving record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company's standards preferred. Ability to become forklift certified required.
Other Requirements: Strong Organizational skills and previous logistics, inventory control, warehouse and/opr stockroom experience preferred.
