JOB TITLE: Dispatcher – Plant Services/Infrastructure – Alabaster, AL
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This role will oversee the daily planning & scheduling of Spectrum’s Plant Services and Infrastructure Division’s resources. This position will be stationed and dispatched from Spectrum’s Alabaster facility. This role will report directly to the Operations Manager – Plant Services/Infrastructure to maximize the efficiency and profitability of the overall Division.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily scheduling and allocation of people and resources to maximize utilization and job profitability.
- Determine the best fit skill sets & labor for the job scope.
- Schedule appropriate people, equipment & resources for each job.
- Create all service orders & daily appointments in Acumatica (ERP system).
- Ensure that all people, resources & equipment are listed correctly on the project paperwork.
- Make sure that all dates and times are entered accurately for financial projections.
- Publish the upcoming work to schedule necessary management and field supervision.
- Call all personnel and make sure they understand the scope of the impending work.
- Coordinate with Fleet Manager &/or Shop Foreman on required maintenance of equipment while balancing customer needs.
- Inform the fleet maintenance team of any potential issues that impact the upcoming schedule.
- Work with the maintenance team on the usage of Spectrum’s onsite wash bay.
- Assisting maintenance in emergency situations.
- This may include the following:
- Provide locations and destinations of Spectrum’s resources during a mechanical breakdown &/or tire repair.
- Occasionally follow or pick up drivers for external maintenance of equipment.
- Assist in job preparation & PPE allocation.
- Prepare all PPE for the next day.
- Utilize the PPE sign in & sign out paperwork for proper allocation & cost.
- Work with Safety Manager on PPE stock and upcoming needs.
- Assist Superintendents and Foreman on job preparation when necessary.
- This may include the following:
- Load proper flex &/or hoses on vacuum trucks, support trucks or &/or trailers.
- Make sure all appropriate hand tools, fittings, drums, specialized tools & accessories are accessible and ready for use.
- Hook up any trailers and support trucks needed for the project.
- Assist in maintaining the master schedule &/or payroll input in Acumatica.
- Approving, reporting and recording of all Plant Services/Infrastructure tardiness, absenteeism, call-ins, PTO, vacation and Banker Hours of employees.
- Record all instances of field employee call-ins, absenteeism, tardiness and refusal to work.
- Approve and submit PTO &/or vacation requests in accordance with Spectrum’s employee handbook and upcoming work schedule.
- Assist in keeping all Spectrum CDL drivers within DOT regulations.
- This will include the following:
- Pre & Post Trips are correctly completed and turned in.
- All DOT time rules, regulations & requirements are being maintained.
- Assure drivers are utilizing ELDs in CDL equipment, as required.
- Coordinate with other Spectrum divisions on joint projects.
- Maintain constant communication with the Spectrum’s other divisions and locations about potential needs and upcoming work.
