Hospital Dispatcher – Job Summary
The Hospital Dispatcher is responsible for the smooth operation of the Security Dispatch Operations Center, ensuring efficient coordination and response to incidents within the hospital. The Dispatcher will manage and monitor various systems, including CCTV surveillance cameras, the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, and multiple fire safety computers. Key responsibilities include prioritizing incoming calls, dispatching Security Officers as needed, and taking appropriate actions in emergency or routine situations. The role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure, and quick decision-making during high-stress situations.

Responsibilities/Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- CCTV Monitoring: Continuously monitor a large number of CCTV surveillance cameras to ensure the safety and security of the hospital premises.
- Call Management: Prioritize and manage incoming phone calls, assessing the urgency and dispatching appropriate resources as necessary.
- Dispatching Security Officers: Coordinate and dispatch Security Officers to locations within the hospital based on incidents or requests.
- CAD System Operation: Operate the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to log incidents, track responses, and ensure efficient communication with security personnel.
- Fire System Monitoring: Monitor multiple fire safety systems, taking appropriate actions based on alerts and emergency notifications.
- Customer Service: Maintain a customer service-oriented approach, providing clear communication and assistance to hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
- Emergency Response: Stay calm and professional in emergency situations, making quick decisions and coordinating responses effectively.
- Reporting: Document incidents, actions taken, and communications accurately for reporting and follow-up purposes.

- Strong Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with hospital staff, security teams, and other stakeholders, especially during emergencies.
- Calm Under Pressure: Demonstrates poise and professionalism in stressful, high-pressure situations.

- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge and experience with CCTV systems, CAD software, and fire safety systems.
- Attention to Detail: Capable of managing multiple systems simultaneously while ensuring accuracy in dispatching and reporting.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to assess situations quickly and determine the best course of action.
The Hospital Dispatcher plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of the hospital environment, requiring both technical skills and excellent interpersonal abilities to manage emergency and routine operations effectively.
Qualifications:Preferred
Education
- Associate/technical degree in telecommunications or law enforcement
Experience
- 1- 3 years dispatch or hospital security experience.
