About the Role & Program
Join us for the opportunity to work behind-the-scenes or (in the “backlot”) to support television shows produced by Disney banners including 20th Television, FXP, and Disney Branded Television! We are looking for an intern to join the team in our North Hollywood warehouse where we loan set inventory, construction elements, and production office & set decoration assets to our scripted series. This team provides additional services to our shows including storage solutions, shipping logistics, asset liquidation and planning for season/series wraps. If selected for the role, you will report directly to the Manager, Set Inventory.
What You Will Do
You will assist the Manager of Set Inventory in logging and tracking set inventory for use by Disney Television productions and outside rentals. You will gain a closer look into the logistical elements of maintaining a Television Set Rental/Library business, which provides cost savings to our productions while promoting reuse and sustainability. In addition to set inventory, you will also have the opportunity to do work within Asset Management and the overall Administration of our warehouse.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Learning the day-to-day processes of our television warehouse functions, including set inventory, asset management, and warehouse administration. Primary focus will be Set Inventory.
+ Inventory management – track, search and update the set inventory database. Log new sets into the systems with detailed measurements, design characteristics, history, and digital photographs.
+ Logistical support – create set transportation memos and coordinate billing/invoicing for sets and transportation. Work with productions and third-party storage facilities to coordinate invoices and billing activities.
+ Administrative and office duties including meeting scheduling, document distribution, and updates to department website.
+ Opportunity to work with internal Production teams, and show-level contacts in the Art and Construction departments.
+ Develop and present, with guidance from the team, a special project to the Production Shared Services leadership team at the completion of the internship.
Required Qualifications & Skills
+ Experience using MS Office Suite
+ Prior internship or job experience in an office environment or on a production
+ Strong interest in the Television and the Entertainment Industry
+ Strong communication skills
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
+ A positive attitude and an eagerness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
+ Previous internship experience within a related field
+ Experience using Filemaker Pro and Adobe Suite
+ Coursework in Production, Design, or Architecture fundamentals
Education
+ Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
+ Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year preferred or a recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
+ Be at least 18 years of age
+ Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
+ Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
+ Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
+ The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025
+ Fully available from Monday through Friday 8am-5pm PT for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
+ Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, CA area
+ Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
The pay rate for this role in California is $22.00 per hour.
