JOB DESCRIPTION
INTRODUCTION
As a new sister restaurant to both La Cocina de Roberto locations in Spring, Don Chuy’s goal is to provide guests with an authentically prepared, taqueria style breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu, with a large focus on house made tortillas and specialty meats. These items will be served alongside an array of frozen margaritas and carefully selected beers.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Operate and maintain the dishwashing equipment, including the dishwasher, sinks, and related machinery.
- Clean and sanitize all dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment according to company standards and health regulations.
- Ensure all items are properly rinsed, washed, and sanitized before returning them to their designated storage areas.
- Monitor and maintain adequate levels of dishwashing supplies (detergent, rinse aid, etc.) and notify management when supplies are running low.
- Empty trash and recycling bins in the kitchen and dishwashing areas as needed, and replace with fresh liners.
- Organize and store clean dishes and utensils in their designated places for easy access by kitchen staff.
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area, including the dishwashing station, shelves, and storage areas.
- Sort and stack dirty dishes for efficient washing and drying processes.
- Support a positive and collaborative work environment by working effectively with fellow kitchen staff.
- Follow company policies and procedures related to cleanliness, safety, and hygiene.
- Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
- Assist in other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by kitchen management.
REQUIRED TRAINING/ EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Previous restaurant experience. (Not required but preferred)
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information to customers and other team members.
- Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
- Must have Texas Food Handler's Certification.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Positive attitude, and solution oriented.
- Self-motivated and self-aware.
- Able to stand for 8 hours at a time.
- Able to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Available to work weekends.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Takes initiative and has a sense of urgency.
- Good hearing for accurate communication.
- Ability to teach and train others.
- Emotional intelligence.
- Must be able to physically carry out the position requirements.
