How you make a difference:
This role offers 20-24 hours per week with the potential to grow.
The Utility Worker works as a team member in the hospital’s main kitchen and works under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor to oversee the proper cleaning, of the kitchen, all pots and pans, and assists in the cleaning of equipment, food trays and cups. Takes out the trash each shift and cleans back dock, puts up all stock deliveries and delivers food to offsite catering contracts. Reports pertinent information to the Food Service Supervisor for follow up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure cleanliness of all kitchenware, including pots, pans, trays, cups, plates, and hot boxes.
- Take out trash, properly use the compactor, and maintain clean storage areas, coolers, and freezers.
- Stock and rotate supplies to ensure timely availability of items needed for daily menu requirements.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to infection control policies.
- Deliver food to external catering facilities and be sensitive to cultural diversity when treating and caring for individuals, following the SFSH Code of Conduct.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Required: High school diploma or GED
Experience
- Preferred: Prior institutional or residential food service training
Licenses/Certifications
- Required: Valid and clear Florida Driver License
