CTG is seeking to fill a Disaster Recovery Analyst opening for our client in Richmond, VA.
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: Permanent Placement
Duties:
- Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans (process documentation), including creating clear, concise user manuals, guides, and reports.
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts (SMEs) across various departments to ensure consistency and continuity in disaster recovery for IT systems.
- Integrate disaster recovery and business continuity plans with other teams such as emergency management, information security, and service management.
- Communicate complex technical information effectively to diverse audiences, including business leaders and technical staff.
- Conduct regular training, tabletop drills, and real failover exercises to ensure readiness in disaster recovery scenarios.
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential threats and develop risk mitigation procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in disaster recovery.
- Oversee data recovery management for both virtual and physical environments.
- Evaluate past disasters and identify areas for improvement in disaster recovery strategies.
- Define roles and responsibilities for team members to ensure accountability during disaster recovery efforts.
- Secure physical locations to ensure readiness during disasters.
- Manage disaster recovery service vendors and service provider contracts.
- Set up alerts to notify multiple employees when a disaster occurs.

Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities, including process analysis, problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to discuss complex disaster recovery concepts with both technical and business leaders.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively across departments.
- Strong technical writing skills, with a focus on developing disaster recovery documentation and reports.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a high-stress environment.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with disaster recovery program documentation, policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation plans.
- Previous experience creating disaster recovery plans from scratch, as this is a solo role for now.
Education:
- Required Education: Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field with 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field with 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss disaster recovery with business leaders and technical teams.
- Ability to independently create and build disaster recovery plans, especially for a one-person team.

Working Conditions & Additional Job Requirements:
- High-stress periods and fluctuating workloads may occur.

Location:
This position reports to the Parham Road Office in Richmond, VA.
Remote or Onsite: This is a hybrid role: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote. After a 3-month trial period, the candidate will have the option to be fully remote.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
